Since this is a regular human, it’s fair to say this is not going to be perfect. It might not be great or captivating. It is not based on an algorithm. I don’t have too many of them in my thoughts. They are a sequence of mathematical things. I count what’s in my hand basket at Trader Joe’s. But, I’m also cheating because I count 2 or more of the same item as only 1.
True accountability as I watch the computer adding the Corn Dippers and organic oatmeal bar prices. I know it’s right. Is that wrong? Can a computer screw me? Would it? While rooting for the price to stay under $20 with this inflation thing it’s never exactly that but always a little over. Not the items in my basket but the cost.
I trust the machine. Really, it’s not like a loaded electronic gambling machine. I don’t trust those. On the chance the person who set it up had a feeling to make more money. The computer will do just as it’s programmed.
So, If it says $21.40 I swipe my card without demanding a recount. This is time to continue my awkward conversation with the cashier. That .40 when dealing cash with him is a mental runoff recount. The .40 is not within my margin of error with the computer.
The mistake can happen, only by the people posting the prices or during the scan, even putting the granola in the spot the chia seeds go. That I forgive, AI knowing I’ll be coming back in 22.5 hours for oat coffee creamer? Not so much.
